Psychadelic Assisted Therapy

  • Psychedelic Therapy (aka Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapy) is a type of practice, which has its roots in Indigenous Medicine, that involves ingesting a psychedelic substance as part of the therapeutic process.

  • In this work, we would combine the use of a psychedelic substance, in this case a Ketamine lozenge in combination with our somatic therapy sessions.

  • Ketamine is used to create a mood altering and consciousness expanding state, that sometimes helps people to feel "far from" your body, facilitate a closer connection to yourself and to nature/universe.

What is Ketamine Assisted Therapy and its benefits?

Ketamine Assisted Therapy is the use of Ketamine, a safe, legal medication prescribed off-label to treat a variety of mental health diagnoses including depression, anxiety and PTSD. It has a fast acting antidepressant and mood enhancing effect which can begin to take into affect minutes after treatment and last for several days/weeks after.

  • Ketamine is traditionally used as an surgical anesthetic (for kids all the way up to older populations), but is used as an off label way to treat a garden variety of mental health disorders

  • Ketamine works by interacting with the brain's receptors, kind of like a switch. It helps create new connections between brain cells and improve your mood. Think of it like giving your brain a little boost to feel better. Ketamine has been found to making the brain more adaptable and open to learning new patterns or things.

  • Ketamine comes in many forms. It can be given through an IV (intravenous), IM (through the muscle via an injection) or orally (through a lozenge).

  • I only work with folx using an oral intake of Ketamine prescribed through Journey Clinical
